About the role

Are you passionate about helping people overcome barriers and build better futures? The Lead Worker Plus Service is looking for compassionate, committed volunteers to support adults who are navigating multiple challenges such as mental health issues, substance use, repeat homelessness, and offending histories.

This is not a homelessness accommodation service — it’s a transformational support service that helps people regain stability, independence, and dignity through personalised, community-based support.

What you’ll be doing

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a volunteer, you’ll work alongside experienced Lead Workers to:

  • Offer emotional support and encouragement to individuals facing complex life challenges
  • Help people access local services and community resources
  • Support individuals to build confidence, resilience, and independence
  • Promote early intervention and wellbeing, preventing crisis wherever possible
  • Be a trusted presence who listens without judgment and supports without conditions

Volunteer Roles Available:

  • Wellbeing Support – Check in with individuals, offer a listening ear, and help them stay connected to services
  • Community Connector – Help people access local groups, activities, and services that support recovery and inclusion
  • Peer Mentor – Use your lived experience to inspire and guide others on their journey

Who we are?

Trident Group has over 60 years’ experience of delivering homes, services and innovation for up to 8,000 people in over 3,600 homes in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands. The Group employs more than 650 staff, works with volunteers and provides training places and apprenticeships for many more.

The Group consists of;

  • Trident Housing, which provides landlord services for the Group in respect of housing management and maintenance
  • Trident Reach, which is a registered care and support charity delivering trauma informed care and support services.
