I have been with the organisation for just over 2 years and have seen myself transform as a professional in more ways than one.
Housing is a great career and any skills you learn within the sector; you can transfer to many other roles. It’s a good place for anyone to start a new career. No two days are the same and I love that my job challenges me every day in many ways. I originally started my career delivering services for contractors and the main objective was to make as much profit as we could. This all changed when my employment started with Trident Group, as the main objective was to support some of the most vulnerable people within our communities, which changes the way services are delivered and gives real job satisfaction.
I joined Trident Reach in 2011, initially working in Coventry with customers with learning difficulties. I joined the Birmingham Adult Lead Worker Service in 2019. My own disability and needs arising have been fully and respectfully understood by managers and colleagues. Training and development is good and managers are happy to receive ideas for external training opportunities. I have always felt valued as a person since joining the organisation.
I have found the support from my colleagues invaluable in helping me to progress in my role at Trident Reach. We are a close-knit team who pull together and support one another by sharing experience and good practice.
I have been employed by Trident Reach for almost 3 years and have enjoyed my time here immensely. I feel the organisation have allowed me to improve my personal skills and grow as a person. I started my journey with Trident Reach as a casual member of staff and I’m now a Team Supervisor. I have always had a passion to support vulnerable adults and wanted to utilise, where possible, my background Law to support this passion. Trident Reach has developed me both as a professional and as an individual. I’ve experienced monumental life events whilst at Trident Reach, such as graduating and giving birth to my son, and during each moment I received the best possible support.
I started my career with Trident Reach in 2019, since then I have had several opportunities to be able to develop my career. I successfully applied for a secondment opportunity and during this secondment I applied for a further opportunity and was successfully promoted to a Team Supervisor within Trident Reach’s Young Peoples Lead Worker Service. I’ve been in my current role for over 5 months now and I have learnt so much with the support of my line manager.
I applied to be a Lead Worker at Trident Reach after I was made redundant from an office-based role during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. This was a new venture for me and one I had no prior experience in. I had no idea before the interview what I wanted to do with my life and which career path to take. However, I can truly say that since working here I feel I have found the right path for me, and it was the best thing I have ever done. This job allows me to make a difference in people’s lives and really change them for the better which is better than any other job I have done.
No two days are the same at Trident Group. I could be writing a story one day and filming our Executive Team the next. Your passions are nurtured, and the support received from my manager and colleagues have pushed me to excel more in my field. Both my professional and personal skills have been challenged, in a positive way, and I’ve learnt so much whilst being employed at Trident Group.
